Staff Training:
Dr. Harvey offers Trauma-Informed Care Sessions for Direct-Support Professionals (DSPs), Mid-Level Managers and Administrators. The training for Staff is designed to facilitate an understanding of trauma and its behavioral manifestations. It presents the key ingredients for healing for people with ID/DD on a clear and practical level. Training can take two hours, three hours or all day. |
Training the Trainers:
Dr. Harvey trains experienced trainers and clinicians in the field of ID/DD to conduct Trauma-Informed Care instruction in their own organizations. This training will be specifically modified to meet the needs of the people supported in these organizations. It can include new hire training as well as annual or bi-annual refreshers. Slides and materials will be provided, and training can span two or three days. |
Training the Clinicians:
Dr. Harvey is also available to train Clinicians to work therapeutically with people with ID/DD. This will include instruction in trauma-informed support as well as in the Positive Identity Approach to therapy. Materials will be provided. |
